By chance, I came across this brilliant Quo cover. Persephone's Bees is an Oakland-based rock band fronted by Russia born Angelina Moysova. The track is from their 2006 Columbia CD 'Notes From The Underworld'. It has everything to put a smile on my face. Great video too.
Written by Bob Young and Francis Rossi, 'Paper Plane' was originally released as a single by Status Quo in November '72.
Fortunately, I caught the band live in their heyday, when they finally had a hit in my homeland Belgium with 'Down Down'. It was 1975, I was fourteen and this was my first major concert. I remember, they didn't even play 'Down Down' - don't know about 'Paper Plane' - but it was pure magic !
